We make everything from scratch and firmly believe high end techniques & ingredients aren’t just for high end places.

Our brunch spot is industry owned, industry operated, and unapologeticly TACOMA to our core.

Since 2022, we’ve been PROUDLY busting out biscuits and cheesecake in Tacoma, Washington. Just two burnt-out, life-long food industry workers with a $2000 payday loan and an instagram account, we opened as a take-out only kitchen operating out of a rundown commisary. We never had any idea that Side Piece would be anything more than a way to make a living while we looked for our next jobs

In April of 2023, after selling out of everything every week, we both realized that our tiny venture was getting way larger than we ever could have guessed. We couldn’t deny that we desperately needed to expand into our own space. We launched a Kickstarter campaign and crowdfunded around $25,000 from the community to build our first ever brick an mortar location.

After 3 months of hard-work, saving every penny we could by thrifting any item we could, while learning basic construction skills from Youtube- we transformed a run down old pizza spot into the Side Piece Kitchen y’all love today.


With our mighty crew by our side, we opened our doors in October of 2023.
